<WEEK 3>
Having a good
day everyone? This week’s assignment seems interesting because I get to know whom
you guys have followed and why. For me, I am interested in café company since I’ve been promoting my mother’s café in Korea. I followed some famous
café such as Starbucks and Coffee Bean. As you know, none of the people would
not know what a Starbucks is. I could even say Starbucks is the most famous café
franchise in the world. Also, I was surprised when I saw “The Coffee Bean” when
I came to the United States, since Korea has this café too. After I tried some
drinks there and compared with Korea, I think most of the drinks are the same,
but American coffee tastes a bit stronger than Korea. I’ve decided to follow
both Starbucks and the Coffee bean twitter and compared America promotions with
Koreans. I was able to see some pictures of coffee and deserts on twitter, and
I also learned how to promote something online. To be honest, when I promoted
my mother’s café online, I wrote down some sentences of explanations and
pictures, but both Starbucks and Coffee Bean seemed to have a sentence of an explanation
with a picture. I think the latter method is more neatly organized compared to
mind, so I need to keep this factors in my mind. Once again, I remembered
reading something about organizations in the book, so I need to be aware with
it.
           Moreover,
I was just interested how American McDonald’s would promote their food, so I followed
it and saw some pictures. It was interesting and got surprised how McDonalds reacts
to the customers. It responded to most of the customer’s questions or statements,
which made me to recall about ‘participation.’ When I also saw the Burger king
twitter, this was the same with McDonalds. Finally, I decided to follow a
famous person rather than a company and saw Justin Timberlake’s twitter. He
wrote down lots of posts with pictures and most people like him. Since his
posts were all nicely written and generous, I guess the numbers of followers
are increasing.
           To
summarize, I saw Starbucks, The Coffee Bean, McDonalds, Burger King, and Justin
Timberlake. These five twitters have some similarities which are being nice,
organize well, and participating well enough. When I think about the strength
of these promoting method, perhaps more people would like to follow them and
get to know more about them. Fortunately, I was not able to think about some
weakness based on those five twitters I’ve looked for but learned some lessons
that I will apply on to my promoting blogs.

The title of your blog drew me in, and your views on Twitter promotions were interesting. I think with large companies like you are following, they have multiple people watching all of their social media accounts and respond as soon as they can, in order to stay ahead of any potential issues.
ReplyDeleteHello Stacy, it's amazing that your are helping to promote your mother's cafe! Maybe skills you are going to learn while taking SMM could improve your promoting skills better. Also, the way McDonald's and Burger King advertises is very interesting, I never knew that!
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy! I liked to read your reason why you followed them, it's so persuasive that I want to follow the Starbucks too! I agree with your opinion about promoting both with a picture and a sentence, cause it helps to understand the picture well and catchs eye more than only a picture or a sentance.
ReplyDeletePretty good strategy to compare what is done here in the US and what you already know from Korea. By the way you have a nice writing skill, read your post like a professional article.
ReplyDeleteHey, I think your utilization of tweeter is really smart. Comparing the similarities of what you know and what is done here and taking those as tips to enhance your brand building is super wise. Nice !
ReplyDeleteHi! I like how you've used Twitter to draw from other examples in order to better promote your mother's cafe. Also, it's very interesting what you've done by comparing the American version to Korean versions. Its an unique outlook that few can experience that you've managed the same company but in different countries.
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice that you are learning social media marketing for your mother's business. I am taking the class for the same reason. I am learning how to advertise online for my business.
